Star Castle Final

And the final label design. Complete with retro, airbrushy, metallic logo and a slight bit of color fade to add to the old school.

Star Castle WIP

Yet another label design contest for yet another classic arcade game remake. I grew up playing most of these games so it's fun trying to visualize a contemporary look to these while being faithful to the spirit of the original. This one is for the Game Star Castle and step one was to try and recreate the main players in the game. Going for a slightly painterly look reminiscent of classic sci-fi movie posters. Starting with 3D and experimenting with both hand-drawn and procedural textures in Cinema 4D and Photoshop.

The Weekly 30

Today debuted a new project at work, The Weekly 30. Anyone in the studio who chooses to participate is given a theme and 30 minutes to develop a design that interprets the theme. This week's theme was "Work Space". I've been looking for excuses to loosen up a bit and use Procreate more often so I drew upon my fast food experiences in a previous life to draw this work space "in 30 minutes or less!"

Space Rocks Box

And to complete the trilogy, the box the game will come packaged in. Typically these boxes have much more information about the game on the back panel including screenshots and a game play overview. I rationalized that since most sales will come from the online store where that information is available, everyone will already know what the game is all about. Since the box doesn't really have to function as a piece of point-of-sale that informs, I had fun with it and used the back of the box to offer a back view of the main illustration.

And here's a snapshot of the production art for the box.

Space Rocks Manual

As luck would have it my Space Rocks label submission was the winning entry. To ensure the game instruction manual had a consistent look to it I designed that as well. Below is the layout for the final, printed 8-page manual. Pages are numbered 8,1,2,7,4,5,6,3 because they're shown as spreads.

Space Rocks Label

Another label design contest for an upcoming game release. The game is inspired by the classic arcade game Asteroids, therefore so is my entry.

iOS Vampire Game WIP

Working on graphics for an upcoming iOS game. You play Steve the vampire. Steve has to run from the sun and jump from platform to platform. Powerups, trick platforms, multiple levels, all sorts of fun stuff. I'm working with a programmer (maybe two) and a musician who is scoring the custom soundtrack. These are mockups of the game in action.
